Takako Suzuki
DIRECTOR
Takako Suzuki has been our amazing preschool director for 17 years. She came to the United States in 1990 from Japan, where she worked as a piano teacher. She has always been passionate about working with and interacting with children, so when she first moved to the states, she began a home daycare in Huntington Beach. She has a certification in childhood development and received her director's certificate from Santa Ana college.
What began as a home daycare, blossomed into Kohitsuji (Little Lambs) preschool at Pacific Church of Irvine. She is blessed to have a wonderful and experienced teaching staff who love helping children develop their full potential in both Japanese and English (new!) speaking classrooms.
Mark Jackson
ADMINISTRATOR
Mark Jackson is the Family Pastor at Pacific Church of Irvine, where he oversees our nursery and ministers to our families as a whole. He has been on staff for 8 years and brings strong organizational and administrative skills as well as a deep Biblical background with his Master's in Divinity, from Trinity School of Theology. He is a firm believer in the power of God's word to provide transformational hope, peace, and guidance in our everyday lives.
He is also a dedicated husband, and a father of three wonderful young children. He loves working with children and young families and is thrilled to have an opportunity to support, encourage, and guide children, parents, and teachers in any way he can.
Kimberly Givens
Lead Teacher
Kimberly has been a preschool teacher for 12 years. She feels honored and blessed to be a part of this amazing school and team. And most importantly, she is excited to be on this adventure with your family.
Kimbery has been working with children since 1994. She has served as a Home Childcare Provider, a Nursery Director, and a Children’s Ministry Director as well as having worked with elementary school children. Kimberly currently holds an AA in Child Development and a Child Development Teacher Certificate.
Kimberly has three grown children: Caitlin 30, Kathy 24, and Robert, 22. As well as, two son-in-laws and 4 grandsons. She enjoys family time, cooking, and reading. Kimberly also has a love for spending time at the beach, going fishing, bike riding, and long walks.
Kimberly's favorite verse is Romans 8:28. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
Our Philosophy
Children are a gift from God! Kohitsuji (Little Lambs) Preschool was born out of the desire to help children understand His love for them and to help them develop love for one another, by teaching them about God and how to interact with peers and adults in positive ways.
"Experience Curriculum" applies child development theories and brain research to a unique model of teacher support, child experience, and family engagement. We believe every child is full of potential, naturally curious, and important to the community.
Our History
Little Lambs Preschool has operated a Japanese preschool for over 17 years in its home at Pacific Church of Irvine (PCI). In addition, music lessons are available for various instruments onsite, by skilled professional instructors.
In 2020 we decided to expand our school with additional English speaking classrooms that operate in parallel, in some newly remodeled classrooms at Pacific Church.
